We are passionately working within our community to give back and make things better for the people, animals, and planet around us.

We’ve probably all looked at a beauty advertisement before and gone
“wow, their skin so smooth/clear/evenly toned... is that real?”, right?
Depending on where you look, the beauty industry can be full of misleading before and afters, overly retouched photos, and enough airbrushing to make some models almost unrecognizable from the original images. Exposure to advertisements and content like this can put a strain on people’s self-confidence as they compare themselves to an unrealistic image of “perfection”. For products like skincare, haircare, and body care that are meant to help you feel your best, that doesn’t seem right, and we don’t want any part of it.
Since day 1, we've been doing things differently.
IAMPROUD is here to celebrate real people with real skin. This means absolutely no retouching to our model images – ever. We’ve gone a step further than that, though. We want to ban the retouching of images in beauty advertisements altogether and normalise seeing real, unedited skin, hair, and bodies.
In 2020, Skin Proud created a petition to the Advertising Standards Agency to make it happen. We want to ensure no one feels inadequate because of the way their skin looks compared to someone else's.
Stick it to the “airbrush” retouching tool and sign our petition today!
Everyone has a part to play in breaking down the stigma around mental health and supporting those who are in need of mental health support.
And we’re included in that too.
In May 2022, we partnered with The Sad Girl’s Club – an amazing organisation that focuses on three key goals:
In collaboration with Sad Girl’s Club founder, Elyse Fox, we created the first ever chatbot on Twitter to help fight back against negative self-talk.
With helpful advice on how to detox your mind and body, how to relax and sleep better, ways to adopt self-care using Skin Proud products, and more, the chatbot was there to help give a positive message to those feeling down about themselves.
Negative self-talk can take a toll on your mental health, and skin stress is a massive factor of negative self-talk for some people. At Skin Proud, we think that both your perfections and your imperfections are worth celebrating as they make you, you.
In addition to this, we pledged 10% of our online sales for the month of May to Sad Girl’s Club.
IAMPROUD is a safe place for everyone. We always have and always will be committed to amplifying the voices of those in the LGBTQ+ community.
For Pride 2022, we partnered with the LGBT Foundation to create an exclusive set of products that features a limited-edition bandana designed by LGBTQ+ artist, Bee Illustrates.
20% of sales from the limited edition Pride Bundle was donated to the LGBT+ Foundation to help with the mission of supporting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people across the UK, and working to build a fair and equal society where all LGBTQ+ people can achieve their full potential.
As a proudly vegan and PETA-certified brand, Veganuary is one of our favourite months of the year to encourage people to try vegan hair, skin, and body products, and work to improve animal welfare worldwide.
Did you know that in a OnePoll survey we conducted of 2,000 people, 6/10 respondents didn’t know that vegan skincare exists? We need to change that.
In January 2022, Skin Proud launched a “Cowfunding” campaign to bring attention to the way dairy cows are treated and the effect that dairy can have on people’s skin.
Other results of our survey showed that those who use vegan skincare products do so because it is better for the environment (64%) and that no animals are harmed (68%). Spoiler alert: those are only 2 of the benefits of vegan skincare!
Alongside this, Skin Proud partnered up with Animal Equality United Kingdom and pledged to donate up to 50% of our online profits for the month of January 2022 to them to help fund the amazing work they do for animals across the UK!
